The next HELGA release is all about the SPORTident Active Cards - SIAC. By introducing a newer OCX component, we can now check the battery voltage and inform about the remaining life time.
It has been implemented in the various places where the SI Card can be read.
Either the numeric voltage is displayed, or a graphical charge level. A "good" battery is between 2.98 and 2.71 volt. Lower than 2.71 you can expect only 3 more races to use it.

Finally the Self-service screen (introduced in
2022/02) has been extended with an automatic card reader; a SIAC number has a green or red background according to the battery level.

Little bonus: the screen now works even without registration, for SI cards readings.
The new version will require the new OCX to be installed.
