Can Helga be used for a Rogaining event?

Is it possible to use Helga for a Rogain event? It is a race with both normal courses, and a rogaining option. So for some runners, the order of controls matters, and for others, the order and completeness of the controls does not count, but the total of uniquely visited controls and their respective score. We'd like to run everything on a single laptop, both 'flavours' of the event at once.

The answer in NO - Classic competition and Score are two different types of Event and only one at a time is possible.

As a workaround, we can propose....

- Define your competition as a Score (the competitors don't know that)
- For the classic runner, select successive numbers of controls and build the course using them in ascending order (1-31, 2-32, 3-33, etc ...)
- For the "score runner", select randomly your controls (75, 87, 103, ....)

In this case, even if the runners have a part of their course as classic and the other as score, you can visually examine on the printed ticket if the sequence of the classic part was correct. (31, 32, 33 ... must appear in this order.)

Up to you to define the penalty is this order was not respected.

N.B. easier to manage with SPORTident where you can renumber the controls, but possible with EMIT if you have enough successive controls
